The second day of How was awesome. The best speaker, honestly, I've heard was Eric Karjaluoto, from smashLab. He spoke candidly and personally about how we as designers can really change how we impact the world. Not by "green-washing" everything but instead by changing how we approach problems, how can I better solve this problem for a client. Add sustainability to your value proposition, as a practice, not as a preach. In other words, lead by example.

I took this to heart. It was the best speaker I've seen at the event. So in honor of sustainability. I went for a walk and took pictures. Unplugged for awhile and just listened to the wind and walked around. Found an entire army of baby geese chasing and playing. It was like the icing on the cake. Just overcast enough to keep it from being to crowded out, but nice enough to just sit on the water and enjoy everything. As a Yankees fan, I hate to admit it but Boston is really really beautiful.

I snapped this photo walking around yesterday waiting for the HOW conference to start. Pretty cool sign. Found some really old looking awnings all around town. Had breakfast at this place in Southie called Mul's Diner. Pretty good eats. Also had a beer last night at Bukowski's. Might be my new home town bar while I am here.

Xmas crazy

I love Christmas music. Soo much...so much it makes my lady crazzee. I found however some xmas music that drives me batshit crazy.

Awesome stuff, just makes me go a lil' crazy. However it does have a mix by Bud Melvin which is pretty sweet. But yeh I found that and thought I would share. Some friends of our went to the 8bit festival in NYC and said it was awesome. I dunno. My head would explode. I've been doing a good bit of design work lately so hopefully I will get something up soon for everyone to look at.

PR' on the mind

So after our first substantial snowfall, and the first super cold commute to work, I got another "first today." Stephanie IM'd me at work this morning with a link. She had been featured in Publisher's Weekly The Beat blog, by Heidi MacDonald. Its a simple post about Steph's work and her site(which I designed, shameless plug). Check out the post here. I'm pumped, alot really seems to be working out for her as of late. Which is good cause we got Figs big ol' mouth to feed. In honor of the PR vibe here is my favorite new commercial.

Damn you Presley Estate

I hate you Elvis estate for ruining this song for me. The wine is fine, the jailhouse red was good. But this has come to far!! BS! I know this has nothing to so with art. I have some new stuff to post. I'm just a bum playing with my kitten Figs all the time.
